BAS is edited collaboratively by a team in London and New Haven. We are keen for the new Contributing Editor to help develop our editorial expertise and shape the future direction of BAS, maintaining its reputation for scholarly excellence, responsiveness to authors and creative experimentation. They will also contribute to two current projects at the journal: a major redesign happening throughout 2022, and the remote residency programme “Atlantic Worlds: Visual Cultures of Colonialism, Slavery, and Racism”.
The Contributing Editor will be engaged on a freelance basis for two years from April 2022. A fixed fee of £10,000 p.a. is offered.
